The Lattice web clipper

The Lattice web clipper is a browser extension for Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Arc. Right-click an image, a link, or selected text, or press the toolbar button, pick a board in the popup, and the card is on that board. It connects through your existing lattice.art sign-in, so there is no second login and no password to give it.

How it works

    Right-click, or press the toolbar button
    Right-click an image, a link, or selected text, or right-click the page itself, and choose the matching “Save … to Lattice” item. The toolbar button and Alt+Shift+L save the page you are on.
  2. STEP 2
    Pick a board
    The popup shows what you are about to save, then your boards with the most recently updated first, a search field, and a “New board” field if none of them fit.
  3. STEP 3
    The card is on the board
    The clip is saved and the popup says which board it went to. If that board is open in another tab, the card appears there straight away; otherwise it is waiting the next time you open it.

How it connects to your account

The clipper never asks for a password. When you are signed in at lattice.art, a small script that runs only on that site hands your existing session to the extension, which keeps it in the browser’s extension storage and renews it on its own. Sign in once and the clipper is connected; sign out and its copy is cleared. If it finds no session, the popup shows one button that opens the sign-in page.

The extension can reach two places and no others: lattice.art and the Lattice database. It sees the page you are on only at the moment you invoke it. It makes no third-party requests and carries no analytics. The privacy page says all of this in full.

Install it

The extension is on its way to the Chrome Web Store. Until it is listed, you can load it from the project folder:

  1. Open chrome://extensions.
  2. Turn on “Developer mode” (top right).
  3. Click “Load unpacked” and pick the extension folder.
  4. Sign in at lattice.art in any tab.

Questions

Which browsers does it work in?
Chromium browsers: Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Arc. It is a Manifest V3 extension, so one build covers all four. Firefox and Safari are not supported yet.
Does it store my password?
No. It never sees one. It reads the session your browser already holds after you sign in at lattice.art, keeps those tokens in the browser's extension storage, and renews them itself.
What happens if I'm signed out?
The popup shows a single button, "Sign in at lattice.art". Signing in there hands the session back to the extension and the popup switches to the board picker. Signing out on the site clears the extension's copy.
Where do clips go?
Into the board you pick, as a card. If that board is open in another tab you will see the card appear; if not, it is added the next time you open the board.
Can I clip text?
Yes. Select text on any page, right-click it, and choose "Save selection to Lattice". It arrives as a note card on the board you pick.
What can the extension see?
The address and title of the page you are on at the moment you invoke it, plus whatever you right-clicked. It talks to lattice.art and the Lattice database and nowhere else, and it carries no analytics.
